wow. its been awhile since i last update this thingy. anyways, dropping by to promote songs by Muse. first theres Sunburn. it had that haunting piano introduction like New Born minus the 'flava'. tends to get real painful as the song wander to a new captivating level. superb song. i rate it 3.5/5.:D.
Sunburn
Come waste your millions here
Secretly she sneers
Another corporate show
A guilty conscience grows
I'll feel a guilty conscience grow
I'll feel a guilty conscience grow
She burns like the sun
And I can't look away
And she'll burn our horizons make no mistake
Come let the truth be shared
No-one ever dared
To break these endless lies
Secretly she cries
She burns like the sun
And I can't look away
And she'll burn our horizons make no mistake
And I'll hide from the world
Behind a broken frame
And I'll burn forever
I can't face the shame
And I'll hide from the world
Behind a broken frame
And I'll burn forever
I can't face the shame
next is butterflies and hurricanes. when i first heard it from Jun's blog, i thought it was an old Queen-type song as it contain that stronghold. what surprises me is that Muse can really pull it off nicely. and the piano solo by Matthew Bellamy, vocalist/guitarist/keyboardist, was so good that i gave it 2 thumbs up. if you are expecting something rock in this song, think again. it definitely will shock you. i gave it a 3/5.
i was totally captivated with hysteria not because of its catchy lyrics but for its bass riffs. Chris definitely does his homework and he marvellously wow me with that constant bass riffs. i really thought that it was some kind of an Arabic song as there were so many bends in between the guitar riffs that i was totally shocked when Flint, God bless him, told me that it was Muse. if you planning to download the song, you better be prepared for that wonderful guitar solo. oh man, it is so perfect. so sweet. definitely haunting. i gave it a 4/5.
"our time is running out.." haha. yeap. one of the most powerful songs of Muse in my opinion. the intro was so relaxing that i nearly lost in the groove. when i heard this song, it reminds me of those Dick Tracy's time. where the mob runs wild in the street. seriously. it was so real. Dominic really pull it off nicely with the different strokes of his drumsticks and Chris is brilliant with the constant bass riffs like he does in New Born. too bad this song is becoming more main stream. argh! Flint's not gonna be happy. haha. i gave it a 4/5.
i definitely hate the video for Bliss. it make Matt looks like a shithead. seriously, with his red hairdo and weird goatee. haha. but the song is very catchy. you will have the impression that you're in the future with the constant piano riffs and drum beats contributed by Dominic. thats why they were referred to as "Space Rockers" by the media and press. haha. i gave it a 3.5/5.
yes. New Born. my all-time favourite song. definitely a keeper. this song is the roots of my interest in Muse. without this song, i will still be in the dark of the existense of Muse. when i first heard Flint play the intro on Teck's guitar at the lecture theater, i was definitely shock as it was abit similar to Malmsteen's guitar solo that i am so crazy for. i decided to try it myself after Flint gave me the tabs. and boy was i glad i did that! haha. what really captures me in the beginning was the haunting piano intro riff complete with the intro sung by Matt. after a 7 seconds break, came in the guitar riffs before Dom hit the snare drum and floor tom together, complimenting Matt's guitar riff intro. Chris joins in similar to Matt's guitar riffs and pulls it off nicely. Chris's bass riff was so damn complex that it took me more than a month to master it perfectly. it was so contant and so headbanging-like (is there such a word?) that i was so into the song. haha. the chorus ain't that different. perfectly timed and beautifully done. the solo is a must-listen for those wanting to hear a perfect example of wonderfully-taken guitar solo other than Yngwie Malmsteen. and the music video for the song is done superbly. check it out at http://www.muse.mu. i love Chris's hair in that video. i wanna grow my hair like that. waaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!
